Angela Li is the founder of Contemporary by Angela Li, representing emerging and established artists from China, Hong Kong and worldwide since its establishment in 2008, with a strong focus on photography and new media art. Since its establishment, the gallery has gained considerable attention and has become one of Hong Kong’s top galleries for contemporary art. The gallery’s carefully curated exhibition programme consistently challenges and brings surprises to the local and international art scene. Angela holds a degree in Business Mathematics & Statistics from the London School of Economics, University of London. She was a banker at HSBC and in 2000 set up her own art consultancy company. She was the host of “Museum of Art”, a weekly art programme on Now TV’s News Channel between 2010 and 2011 and still regularly contributes to local magazines.
